Terms of use

Last updated: November 2, 2026Lire en français

1. Purpose

These terms govern the use of the NeuroQuest game ("the game"), published by Upsilon Development ("we"). By installing or using the game, you accept them. If you download the game from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; on Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.

2. The game

NeuroQuest is a puzzle adventure game: your hero travels through worlds inspired by different eras by solving puzzles (sudoku, word search, color sort, nonograms and many more).

  • The game is free. The current version contains no ads and no in-app purchases.
  • It is played without an account and works offline (only the optional global leaderboard needs a connection).
  • A playable browser demo is available on our website.
  • Coins, stars, hints and other in-game items are earned by playing. They have no monetary value and cannot be bought, exchanged or converted into money.

We evolve the game (content, worlds, puzzles, balancing) through updates. NeuroQuest is an entertainment game: it is neither a medical device nor a scientifically validated brain-training program.

3. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, free license to use the game, for private and non-commercial purposes, on devices you own or control.

You agree not to:

  • copy, modify, decompile or redistribute the game, except where permitted by law;
  • bypass the game mechanics or its save protection with third-party tools (cheats, memory editing, etc.);
  • exploit a flaw to disrupt the game or the website.

Screenshots and videos of your games may be shared freely, for non-commercial purposes.

4. Global leaderboard and nicknames

From version 1.3, the game may offer an optional global leaderboard (see the privacy policy). It requires an Internet connection. By joining it, you accept the following rules:

  • Your nickname is public: every player on the leaderboard can see it. Do not use your real name or any personal information (address, phone, email, link).
  • Forbidden nicknames: insults and profanity, hateful, discriminatory, violent or sexual content, impersonation (pretending to be someone else, the publisher or a moderator), advertising, links and any illegal content. An automatic filter rejects part of these nicknames; it does not exempt you from following these rules.
  • Fair play: points are earned by playing normally. Modifying the game, its save or its exchanges with our server to inflate a score is forbidden; implausible scores are capped or rejected.
  • Report and hide: from the leaderboard, every player can report a nickname (optional reason) and hide a player on their own device. A nickname reported by several players is hidden automatically until it is reviewed. You can also write to yeun.lefloch@gmail.com with the nickname: we handle reports as quickly as possible.
  • Moderation: we may hide or remove a nickname (you will then have to pick another one), remove a score, or exclude from the leaderboard a player who does not follow these rules. You can contest a decision by email.
  • Leaving: you can leave the leaderboard at any time (Settings → Data); your leaderboard data is then erased from our server. We may change, reset or discontinue the leaderboard.
  • Points and ranks have no monetary value and do not entitle you to any prize.

5. Intellectual property

The game, its texts, puzzles, worlds, code and brand belong to Upsilon Development, except for third-party elements used under license: the Godot Engine (MIT license), typefaces and graphic and audio assets under open licenses (CC0, CC-BY, SIL Open Font License). Full credits are available in the game’s About screen.

6. Your data

Your progress is saved only on your device; only your nickname, hero and points are sent to our server if you join the global leaderboard. Details of the data processed and of your rights are in our privacy policy.

Uninstalling the game, resetting the device or clearing browser data (web demo) deletes your progress, which is not saved on our servers. We cannot restore it.

7. Future purchases and ads

If in-app purchases or ads were offered in a future version, they would be optional and clearly indicated, and these terms and the privacy policy would be updated beforehand. Payments would be processed by Apple or Google under their own terms (billing, refunds).

8. Availability and liability

We do our best to provide a stable game and quickly fix the bugs reported to us. However, the game is provided "as is": we do not guarantee that it will work without interruption or error on every device, or that the web demo will always be available.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages related to the use of the game, or for loss of progress resulting from uninstalling, device failure or device reset. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under applicable law.

9. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, in particular when the game is updated. The date at the top shows the version in force. In case of a significant change, we will let you know in the game or on this website.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If there is a problem, please write to us first: we will look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute will be brought before the competent French courts, subject to the protective rules of the consumer’s country of residence.
